Keeping The Most Important Thing The Most Important Thing

Sometimes we have to drop what we think is "important" and do what truly is important.

The actual quote is…

“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing” -Stephen Covey

but I prefer my version for my life. Tonight is my last night with my son Conor for about 10 days, so it’s been all about him. Tomorrow he will go to his Dad’s home for the second half of the school holidays and he’s very excited about this. His choice for the evening was watching Finding Nemo together, how could I say no to that? Normally I’m told to leave the room because he wants space while watching TV. We’re definitely in the teenage era! So I embraced this rare opportunity to watch an old favourite with him and we cuddled up together on the lounge. It was lovely to end the night with Ziggy joining us, it was so special to have us all cosy together.

My health has also been a bit challenging the last 2 days and I’ve had to take time out to rest, practising the Living Immersion Method to connect to my body and energy. It’s helped me feel better, as it’s also been a challenging week energy-wise. Having Conor home and having lazy mornings together has been wonderful, but it does drain my energy. On the positive, being that tired means I’m sleeping better, getting 6-7 hours straight sleep each night.

So this brings me to tonight and keeping my promise to myself to write a post every day for 30 days. Currently, I have 13 minutes to finish this one, so I will wrap this up and go to sleep listening to our cat Ziggy who is curled up on my bed softly snoring. I’ve left writing to the absolute end of the day, even staying up far too late, but I’m ok with this small sacrifice because today I kept the most important things, the most important things and still kept my commitment to myself.

So the main reason for this post is to inspire you to drop whatever you think is important to pick up, embrace and love what truly is important.
